A significant regional centre, Wagga Wagga is centrally located in New South Wales, between Sydney and Melbourne. This location offers excellent access to all state capital cities, from Brisbane to Adelaide.The Riverina Intermodal Freight & Logistics (RiFL) Hub, conceived in 2009, plans to capitalise on this excellent location with access to capital cities through improving rail and road connection between Wagga Wagga based on its position on the important Sydney to Melbourne rail line.
In 2013 the principals of Peron were engaged to review the project status, its viability and develop a pathway forward based on the Expression of Interests and funding already achieved by Council.
A detailed commercial review was undertaken, the project re-scoped and risks assessed and finally a Transaction Plan was developed to assist Council to progress this important regional concept.
